I preordered my Note 9 last week and noticed the entire left side has light leaking out. There's a small portion on the right side. After dealing with T-mobile's horribly complicated customer service I was able to get another Note 9.. This second phone has it even worse. Samsung customer support was no help at all saying it's a glare. I emailed them with photos and still no response.

This has been a thing since the note 7. I haven't looked on mine, but Samsung has addressed this with other phones saying it is normal, not a defect.

I know this isn't what you wanted to her hear, just thought I would throw it there that Samsung does know about it and it's probably going to be a uphill battle.

You're lucky! I did ask for a replacement on my first device and T-Mobile made it next to impossible to do and I had spent two days going back and forth to the store and dealing with customer support over the phone. Finally I get a second device which I had to shell out another $400 for the downpayment instead of just doing an even swap and the second device has the issue but much worse.

y'all and your light leak. seems like a nuisance of any curved screen phone. I checked mine and at full brightness in a dark room and holding my phone at a 15° angle to the horizontal axis, I can just make out some slight bleed on both sides. but then I put the case back on my phone and go about my day.

Good for you. Still a defect and if people want to discuss a defect in a $1000+ product. It's their right to do so.

If I could only see the light from a small angle then it would not be too much of an issue, however its when I'm looking directly at the display and it's very distracting.
