And I would happily welcome that. Returned my Note 9 due to light leak, among a few other things but still have an 8 as a secondary phone and I often think about, when using it, that I'd prefer a flat screen. Same beautiful screen to look at but flat versus curved.

Right, but I'm explaining that the notch has a function.

... I do see is the "Apps Edge" pullout menu on the right....

Go to:

Settings > Edge Screen > Edge Panels > Edge Panel Handle

I moved mine to the upper left side of the screen and set it Size/medium, Transparency/High (i.e., invisible). I can still use it, unless I forget where it's hiding, lol!
