A flat screen would be an interesting development. I've never owned a Note device but I'm intrigued by them.

It seems like from reading the comments here that no single device will please everyone. So I would suggest Sammy doing what Dell does best. Allow us to customise the device

2 screen options (QHD / 4K)
2 storage options (256 (no SD) / 64GB (+SD)
2 battery options (3,200mah / 4,000mah ) maybe the 4,000 version could be aimed at VR?

Obviously I'm sure this would be hard to do but it's so nice being able to customise something to your liking.

I'm not sure how I feel about the whole curved vs flat screen debate. I guess I'm happy either way. I think we should have a flat screen but rounded glass. Best of both worlds?

Call me crazy, but I kinda wish the Note 9 was a little smaller in size. Maybe a 6.1" inch screen. When you pick it up, it feels rather large. Maybe it's the square shape.

Samsung is doing some fantastic work with graphene batteries. It could be the successor to "Li-Ion" just like it replaced Nickel batteries a couple years ago.

Not sure if this is possible, but a user said this a while back and I think it'd be super cool: if the other side of the stylus acted as an eraser.

I'm ok with the curved screen. I agree blow everyone away with the Note 9 size. Give the Note 9 a 6.3 height but decrease back to a 16:9
aspect. Make it the newer improved Mega 6.3 from years ago. Not that the Mega 6.3 was a stylus android however I loved the size. I'm of with back or front embedded finger print scanner. Stereo speakers would be great. Increase internal memory. New feature on the stylus like the previous comments, reverse side be an eraser maybe. Oh and better VR screen display during use.
