Note 9 wish list.

I would be happy with stereo speaker with louder sound, a larger battery and fingerprint reader in front along with a s pen with more features.

Smaller screen, with a different aspect ratio.
On the other hand, I'm afraid the Notes are in a one way ticket. It would take a miracle for Samsung to make a smaller screen for the next Note. S-pen is a must for me, but I just can't handle N8's dimensions. Hoping for a second Note model with smaller screen.

The Note 8 is just right, but definitely no bezel on sides, no bezel at the bottom and thin at the top finger scanner in screen, would be nice to increase on board storage to 128GB for the Note 9 if possible slightly bigger battery, But a BIG MUST if Samsung really wants to knock this N9 out the park they MUST I do mean MUST in the US LAUNCH 4 or more colors in the US not just 2 colors PLEASE!!!!!! offer us more colors. Galaxy Note 9 will be a smash!!!

Same height, but wider.

Keep curved screen.

Keep fingerprint scanner on the BACK! What nobody seems to realize that you hold your phone with your hand, your fingers and behind your phone...duh! And can you just imagine the technical problems with a screen-imbedded scanner?

Keep headphone jack!

Keep SD card slot (that's a deal killer, I'll NEVER own a phone without expandable memory, no matter how good it is or who makes it! That's why I skipped the Note 5!).

A more durable oleophobic coating on the screen...mine has already worn off in one spot from carrying it in my pocket.

Screw the stupid forced security policy crap that FORCES us to use a pin, password or pattern to use fingerprints to unlock the device. That should be OUR choice!

I would really just like the FPS to be centered in the back. Other than that I really can’t think of anything it’s an amazing device.

tons of ideas! this is turning into a "whats your dream phone" thread more than what do you want on your Note.

Interesting about the open air charging. No charger or cords, just Nikola Tesla style wireless charging. I love it!

In regards to batteries being removable I think we're passed that I'd like to see phone where you dont have to think about the battery at all. It just lasts.. (or charges when you walk into a room)

Since were talking about future tech, I'd like to see a focus on durability. The active line is a good start but it's like having a bulky case built-in. I guess what I'm asking would require space-age military grade materials that dont exist or would be way to expensive to put in a consumer device.

As far as basic Note stuff goes I have to reiterate a better more realistic SPen. I like the Apple Pen... something like that. I think a wider screen could accommodate the size. It's a Note, they're supposed to be wide, not tall and narrow.

I think a cool update to the software would be a sort of ala carte menu of features or specs. Maybe a handful of pre-set versions with features that cater to different users but then a pro version where you can just check boxes form a list. This way you dont get features/apps you'll never use. Make it so you can opt in our out any time.

oh yea and let us change the font without having to buy them from samsung. I make fonts and mine arent in the font store, it's annoying I cant use them on my phone.

Keep curved screen.

oh no! No!

Keep headphone jack!

Er... why? That's sort of a head scratcher

Keep SD card slot (that's a deal killer, I'll NEVER own a phone without expandable memory, no matter how good it is or who makes it! That's why I skipped the Note 5!).

Gross. Rather have sufficient internal storage.

You say silly things. I like you :)

Yea the only reason headphone jacks, removable batteries and SD slots are nice to have is because Battery life, internal storage and bluetooth technologies have been less than adequate.

If we truly want a future-proof device we cant keep thinking like this. Demand better technology.

And regarding the curved screen... until there's a realistic reason to have it or an actual use for it I say get rid of it.

Personal preference on the screen, I like the way it looks. As for expandable memory...has NOTHING to do with technology, and EVERYTHING to do with having ALL MY IMPORTANT pics, docs, etc WITH ME, not relying on some cloud based server somewhere! Plus, all my music is on my card, which also makes it easy to swap phones when I get a new one or mine dies. Never will I understand why anyone is OK with relying on a server that you don't even know where it is! It's anyone's choice to have an iPhone, but I never will.

Here is mine which probably sounds like what Flossy Carter would say. This would be like some super phone if I designed it.

flat screen
IR blaster
removable battery
wider screen
4k
128gb built in storage

YES...bring back the IR blaster! I used my Note 4 for my universal remote, purchased a $30 app that allowed me to control ANYTHING. Now it's useless. Forgot about that for my list.

I don't care about the cloud aspect at all, just prefer internal storage to external.

Expandable memory has NOTHING to do with 'technology'...many people, myself included, do NOT want to rely on a cloud based server to backup our pics etc, and many of us have hours and hours of music and videos on our cards, and what if the device dies? I still have all my pictures, videos, documents etc, while you can only HOPE the server you use is well maintained and accessible. Enjoy your iPhone.

So, don't use external memory, but keep the capability for anyone who DOES want it.

I'm fine with that as long as it's a huge number of internal with a slot, and not a low number with a slot because the OEM thinks that is good enough. My preference would be huge number without the slot, but I get why some people would want both.

Agreed. 256gb internal, with an external capability. Now that I could live with. I have a note 8 that has 64gb internal, but Samsung DID make some (for OTHER COUNTRIES) with 256gb...don't know why they shorted the largest cell phone market in the world...

After having an SD forever, I thought the same way, then I got a note 5 and now I have backups of photos and music from 3 years ago on 2 different SD cards a laptop and google cloud. I realised that I dont miss my photos that much and I ended up just paying for Google Music so I dont even need the SD cards because I dont download music anymore. z

I see what you're saying, but I think for technology to advance we need to let go of certain things.

I have no real complaints about my Note 8 but for the 9 I wouldn't mind:
a bigger battery,
a 4k screen for improved Gear VR quality,
support for Samsung's UFS cards instead of micro sd (if they're still a thing),
enough audio improvements to get ahead of competitors like the V30.

It should already have stereo speakers, bigger battery as for the note 8, it still lacking on both those aspects, screen imbedden finger scanner, 128gb at least start storage, ram 8 or higher, (being the phablet for the mutlitasking it should be) redesgin a new look + new colors

That is true and the cloud is an online server some where that is accessed by interent which make it suspectible for hacking, while the sd card is an local storage which is connected to the device an could only be hacked if the device is but it is easier to protect the sd card
