note edge deleted memory card pictures

So my note edge just deleted all my pictures in the camera folder off my memory card. The images, movies and songs in other folders are still there.

This is the 2nd Samsung phone that has done this to me. How the heck can I recover them, and why does this keep happening?

I don't know what is causing it, but one rule of thumb is to backup, backup and backup again. I use Dropbox to back it up.

This. I do Dropbox and Google+. Nothing like having redundant backups (something I learned the hard way after accidentally wiping the wrong 2TB (yes 2 terabyte) hard drive at work)
