Note Edge or Note 4?

The more of you select the Note 4, the better it is for those of us with the Edge. It makes it even more unique. I've been saying this all along. Please do not buy the Edge.

Last time I whipped it out in public a crowd gathered around me.

As a long time Note user with a perfect Note phone I had no motivation to upgrade until the Edge came out. And my battery life is in fact better than my previous note phone.

I love all this Edge bashing. I hope it drives even more people from this phone.

The Edge is the future of Samsung and a lot of you whining will own an Edge phone in a year or so regardless.

If having a unique phone is meaningful to you. When I read that, though, I couldn't help but consider that having unique underwear is not important to me either.

You are right however, the Edge is more unique than other handsets, so unique, in fact, that retailers don't carry hardly any cases or screen protection for it despite it being made by a major OEM. That last bit is why it's too unique for me to spend $945 (AT&T) on it. I kinda hope it becomes less... "unique" because all said and done it is interesting.

Funny! The Note Edge is the most important piece of hardware that has been released in recent memory.

I had no problem to get the exact case and the exact screen protector for my Edge instantly.

Again! The more of you bashing the phone, the better it is for the few of us who own this phone. I wish I was the only one having it.

Note 4..going to get it this week.

Does the sim card in the Motorola Droid Maxx fit in the note 4?

Honestly, both phones are very good. I have the Edge and my hubby has the 4. I will agree that I find the Edge to have moments of great lagging which I would never had said about any other phone I've owned. Clearing the cache helps resolve it but it does get annoying. The Edge is a cool device if you're like me and others and just want to be on the cutting edge but I think if I had to do it again, I'd get the 4. Still.... I'm good with my Edge. It has some very useful features to it like not getting interrupted by calls and being able to limit all the home screens. I may just reset it tonight and start fresh. We'll see. P.S. Oh and of course, there is always the "coolness" factor. "A" for effort in that category. :)

Noone is bashing the Edge. It's a phone, no need to bash it. At retailers in my area (like Best Buy) they do not have many case options for the Edge. Amazon does offer same-day delivery so that helps but also means I'd be stuck trying to do a screen protector install myself and I can never get those perfect enough. ... and I haven't seen any tempered glass that covers the whole display for the Edge yet but I think someone somewhere is supposed to be working on that.

If the S6 has a Edge-type display I'll highly consider it since it'll be mainstream.

You may be the only one in your neighborhood with the Edge, there is that.

👍

Yup. I myself didn't care about the cases because I don't typically use one or screen protector for that matter. I do see more of them showing up places. As for recently mentioned lag, I also believe that this is something that software upgrades can help so I'm willing to be patient (like I have a choice :) ) I also disagree with the person who said the 4 was "Apple-like". Not even close and please don't insult my Note (either one) like that. The Note is becoming more distinguishable than the iPhone now. That was actually the one thing I did like about Apple, was that you could tell one a mile away. Now? Not so much. Forever devoted to the Note Line

I like my iPhone 6+ too. It's nice when I want something different than my Notes 3 and 4. There's a lot the iPhone does well though customization isn't one of them.

I am probably just one of a handful people in my whole city with this phone and that experience is priceless.

As for the S6, Samsung has just begun to make a stink about it. It will come in two forms, standard and Edge. But the S6 may get double edge, meaning curved on both sides. once this hits, if people like it, the Edge will unfortunately become the norm and it would make me very sad. :)

See, now that's what I'm saying. I absolutely admit the iPhone runs great but it has and always will bore me to tears. If I could choose which OS I like the most, it would be Windows Phone but unfortunately I continue to run into the unavailability of certain apps I need and I do NOT need that many. I love the windows Phone OS but right now, the Note gives me everything I need so until Microsoft steps up its game, I can't go back to them either.

Ha, with all due respect I don't think it's bashing, it's just not right for me for now. Don't get me wrong, it's a unique phone. I just find the unique features rather redundant especially when I wear my Gear S watch. Fantastic that the Edge works for you and others. Maybe the Note Edge 2 may work for me then.

It's interesting you mentioned the Gear S. I found it redundant in the 4 days I had it since I have multiple phones. ...which is too bad because it's a neat dohicky.

Ha, really? To each his/her own then. The Gear S and Gear 2 have really enhanced my life and ways of communicating and retrieving info without too much hassle, just on my wrist, not to mention the hours I don't need to carry my Note 4 when I am at the gym or out at dinner. I guess like the Edge vs Note 4, it's all about personal preference and use.

It really is. With the Gear and Gear S I found there were just few to no instances when I preferred using them instead of my phones. I love my phones and enjoy using them whenever possible. I have two Android phones that I use interchangeably. Which to pair the Gear S to? I realized I'd rather interact with notifications on the phone itself than on a device that, for me, was less capable. I realized there were never (at least not enough worth considering) going to be instances when I was going to want to look at my wrist instead of my phone or when I was going to not have my phone near me when I might need any information it possessed.

I, hopefully, am the exception and I wish the Gear line all the very best. We parted amicably. ...at least from my perspective.

The Note 4 and Edge share the same specs, the edge just offer some convience And something different. If u are ok with the "typical device" then go with the 4. If u want something unique and different, go with the edge. It's a simple choice. No right or wrong answer as both devices are top notch. It just depends on your personal taste.

So everything is equal between them making the choice simple? I thought one had a larger battery and different sized screen. Accessories are interchangeable? Yes? Then it really is a simple choice.

Yeah, simple choice. Why do ppl need to come to a forum to make up their mind? You walk into the store, u can demo both devices side by side. You like one better right? What's hard about that? Simple

Some value the input of others that may have already used both devices. Supposed the software that enables the Edge display affects performance? Perhaps the difference in battery size makes a difference. Someone that has used both devices may know and be able to speak to how much of a difference it makes. Asking for advice on such a thing in a relevant forum may prove useful to some even if not to you.

I wish I can be decisive as you when it comes to great devices. For me, the Forum is very helpful. Besides, I usually need about 1-2 weeks of usage to decide, thus the 14 day return policy with TMobile.

I like to use my own judgment. Nothing wrong with seeking advice, but it should be noted that ppl have vastly different opinions on things. Knowing this, I often take others opinions with a grain of salt; unless I know that person. You can ask 10 ppl the same question about an event and get 10 different answers. At some point u have to use ur own brain and decide if u like something or not. Walk into the store, sample what u like and make a personal decision. Don't like it or it have problems, simple, take It Back. That's why there's a return policy. Im just my own person and I make my own decisions based on my personal taste. Nothing wrong with how someone else do it but that's how I do it and I'm extremely satisfied with my note edge just like I knew I would be.

I would never do what that other poster did. I couldn't log into a forum and make a decision on my personal phone based on what a few Randoms said.
