What use cases for the edge screen on the Note Edge can you think of?

I'm eligible for an upgrade and am intrigued by the Note Edge but my fear is that this will cost significantly ($100 to $150) more than the standard Note 4. I would have a hard time justifying that without seeing how this would be beneficial.

Help me out!

1. Notification bar
2. Replacement for the dock
3. Night time alarm clock
4. Stock ticker
5. Sports score ticker
6. Social media (Google+, Twitter, Facebook, etc) ticker
7. Weather conditions/alerts
8. Icons for list of most recently used apps to quickly switch between them.
9. Display 'UV Meter' for recording levels (thanks pwscott)
10. Display Wi-Fi signal strength and band or channel number (thanks pwscott)
11. Discreetly read your text messages, ticker style. (thanks meyerweb)
12. Audio controls (no need to turn the whole screen on).
13. Video controls (play, pause, rewind, fast forward, etc).
14. Pedometer stats.
15. Quick access to your lightsaber. 😲
16. TV remote.
17. Agenda list for today's calendar events. (see details below)
18. Toolbox: Quick access to tools like a flashlight, ruler, bubble level (thanks Kylethekool)
19. Graphical EQ for music
20. RSS reader headline ticker
21. Fast scrollbar. (thanks joganjani)
22. customized news (thanks lazerproof)
23. Multiple, user defined/customized quick app launch panels for different app categories ie Games panel, News Panel, Social panel, etc (thanks lazerproof)

What else?

Reply below and I'll add them to this main list.

Just thought of another use case -

8. Icons for list of most recently used apps to quickly switch between them.

This could be very handy. As it is now, you have to hold the home button down, wait for the long press timeout, scroll through the list, find the App, click on it.

Display 'UV Meter' for recording levels?

Display Wi-Fi signal strength and band or channel number?

Read your text messages, ticker style, without turning on the main screen, and without other people in the meeting knowing you're doing it.

Added these...
12. Audio controls (no need to turn the whole screen on).
13. Video controls (play, pause, rewind, fast forward, etc).
14. Pedometer stats.

17. Agenda list for today's calendar events.

Not sure how well this would work to display all the details you need at a glance (start time, end time or duration, short description, appointment title).

Maybe the current appointment or the very next appointment shows these details and the other appointments for your day are very small on details (start time with just small part of the appointment title just below it).

I could see when you click on any of the agenda items that are small something happens to display more info about that appointment such as use the whole edge screen to scroll the appointment details once or twice (configurable) or maybe all the other appointments collapse to tiny size and the one you click on expands to show pertinent details. After a few seconds the display returns to its default view of expanded details for the very next appointment.

I could see this being very helpful to someone with a busy agenda.

What do you think? Does this sound useful?

18. Quick access to tools like a flashlight, ruler, or a balance tool (I'm not sure what the technical term would be).

How about using as a fast scroll bar to scroll through faster. Like a scroll bar thumb for web pages, reader, emails?
