Android Central Question

Hi all,

I got the new NoteS10+

I have the correct settings for it to change over in the event wifi doesnt work.

However, whenever there is a drop out of wifi, rather than changing over to data, it just says wifi couldnt not connect to the internet. And then it remains in that state for hours, no browser, no whatsapp nothing coming through.

Even though I have the settings saying for it to change.

Well, given you don't seem to know if you have an S10+ or a Note 10+, I'm gonna chalk this up to user error

All you need to do is have mobile data turned on and it will switch when you lose WiFi. However, it will try to connect to even a very weak WiFi signal and crawl along.

Also, though they're often used interchangably by... How to phrase this... Some "normal" people, "WiFi" and "the internet" are not the same thing. If your internet drops, but your WiFi network is fine, your phone will not Switch over.

I've had a modem partially fail after severe lightning storms. It would drop connections randomly but not enough to suspect total failure.

Some apps may be restricted from using mobile data.

Developer Mode allows for more aggressive mobile switch over.

The NOTE now supports newer WiFi 6 and even S10+ will show "6" next to wifi icon on status bar IF you have such AX supported router.

Try turning on Airplane mode then off.
Next try Airplane mode and leave on while enabling turning on wifi.

Are you using the router's 5G or not? Interference and proximity to router, other nearby wifi signals. All usual suspects.
