Note10+ fingerprint sensor slow as hell!

you can unlock the phone with Spen also[...]With the "S-pen" once you pull it out click the button[...]Need to set it up though[...]Yeah it's not secure
Yup, it's kind of like installing heavy-duty door locks and then leaving your house key under your doormat.

It doesn't turn off your ripple effect?

I know you didn't ask me, but it doesn't for me. (I toggled on/off, restarted ... nothing. Regardless of that setting, I still have a slow ripple animation transition effect when I use the fps to log in.) I'm not sure if it's Nova related or not, I just wondered.

It's possible it's Nova related. I use Microsoft Launcher and I don't have performance issues.

I sent a little help email in to the developers as a suggestion, just letting them know the problem exists and asking if they can look into it/see if there's a way to allow for that toggle to take effect using Nova. I'm enjoying a lot about Nova, I'm certainly not switching over this, but I figured why not.

That is the screen transition effect under biometric preferences. Turned off the FPS feels a bit fasterView attachment 310656

So - I finally just checked mine for grins and giggles. Mine was already toggled off by default. I still have the ripple effect (doesn't really bother me though). For those using Nova or other launchers, I'm just using One UI. So I don't think it's a cause/effect of your launcher.

I only see a ripple when I initially press my thumb. The difference I see is in the opening of the screen

Just to update: one week with my Note 10+ right now, and FPS is still slow and unreliable. A shame. Just disabled it and put pattern as unlock method, an incredible step backwards for who is coming from an iPhone X and an OP 6T. But the hell is I'm loving my Note, so cannot consider return it anymore. Just don't know how much time I'll be able to afford with this issue. Big fail for Samsung, imho.

I agree. I love my N10+ but I prefer the lightning quick FPS on my OP7P which btw just got Android 10. Let's hope Samsung releases an update to improve the speed on this FPS.

I think that I might have to look at the OP line when I have to replace my N9. Never liked FFPS. They are less comfortable and intuitive to use.

Well since Mustang wants me to come on this post and take it over here goes.

Did anybody know there was a thin piece of plastic over the front of the screen on the new Samsung Note 10+ phones.

Yep!

It is on the s10 series also. It's the screen protector from Samsung, it's suppose to be there.

I took my Samsung screen protector off my s10+, didn't notice any difference without it. It worked just fine either way.

Did you go in the display setting and turn on the Touch sensitivity

And are you using the tip of your thumb. Or the flat center of your thumb?
Press and hold your thumb on the FPS till it unlocks

I use the tip, flat flat part of my thumb. I registered all angles when setting it up.
