Note10: Side Lighting problems when face down, bad call quality when speaking via speakers

Hello,

I've got my Note10 for one week now and I love it - however there are several things that make me furious.
First, I loved sight lighting on my S9. I chose the glitter effect with a thick line and long duration. It works fine on my Note10 - but only as long as its face up. As soon as I put my phone face DOWN on the table, the side lighting WILL switch on upon receiving a new message, but in blue, with a narrow line and only for about half a second. I tried resetting the side lighting, doesn't work. Does anybody else have the same problem?

Secondly: Whenever I make a phone call with speakers on, the other person won't understand me. I am sounding like far away. According to the test with *#0283# the problem is Mic1, unfortunately I can't choose which Mic the phone is choosing. Sometimes the problem will start in the middle of the call, sometimes it's there from the beginning, sometimes the other doesn't hear ANYTHING from me from one second to the other.

I tried getting a new phone, but I'd have to let it repaired first two times. That's a bummer, it's a new phone. Anyone with the same problems and maybe a solution to them? :(

You definitely should not be having those issues. I am a little confused though. If you have only had the phone for one week, it should be within the return window. Most return windows are at least 14 days. Why would you need to have it repaired two times first? I have never heard of such a thing. Maybe I am misunderstanding though?
 
I am in Germany - you have the right to return the item (and get your money back) within 14 days, but I'd have to pay a higher price for the new phone since I got a discount on it (got it with a renewal of my provider contract) because I would have to order it a second time. *Changing* it is not possible, because in Germany the manufacturer has the right to correct the defect item two or three times before giving you a new one. I am pretty angry that I have to get my shiny new phone repaired...
 
I just called Samsung - they tried it with a new Note10, obviously Side Lighting / Edge Lighting will always switch to standard setting when face down. Just in case anybody else is having the same problem and wondering why.

I thought that was the case, but didn't want to tell you incorrect information. Generally if someone has their phone face down, they want less obtrusive notifications. As for your microphone issue, I haven't noticed this, but I rarely use speakerphone.
