Note9 or iPhone Xs Max?

The only thing you can do is double tap. That will pause and play a song and it will also hang up a call. That's about all you can do. I tried this on my Note 9. I would not buy these just to use on an Android phone.

I use my airpods strictly with my Note 9 it never use the tap features anyway so I control everything using my phone which is no big deal to me. Does exactly what I need it to - shut out annoying managers at work whil listening to music lol

U think the airpods are a value buy?

I broke down and got the Bose soundsport free. I love them. They have great sound quality, work like a charm, and are easy to use. The case has enough juice to charge the headphones for up to like 5 charges I believe.

I did look at the bose sound sport but they were a little chunky for me and very slightly over my budget

Yeah like I said "give up to" I didn't say 24 hours without charging....

Well it is better to be clear here on the forums as we don't want to just re-hash marketing terms since marketing terms make it sound like something it isn't ;).

Technically my Bluetooth headset has 400 hours of life if I want to do the "give up to" and include charging.

Ok well then the airpods give you up to 24 hours with the charging case.

Now that's just exaggeration.

So is saying they get 24 hours but not including the charging part since quoting battery life on how long something lasts but including charging isn't really the true battery life. People don't shop online and see "10 hours of life" and expect that to mean w/ charging for wireless things.

Just saying it is better to be clear is all because having to charge every 3 hours could be annoying for someone at work or something if they need it for all day. Hell it is one reason I couldn't get them haha. I mean the taking out at work and having to pocket it and such was the main driver but a small part of me didn't want to have to keep swapping buds and charging the other.

Haha alright I get it. Then again JHStewart above wasn't clear as well regarding his 10-12 hour battery life.

What earphones are you using?

Beats X. I wanted to try out that W1 chip w/ my iPhone XS Max. They claim 8 hours and they get close to that .. 7ish.

I must confess I am bemused about how people use their phones with this expectation of "all day battery life". There seems to be a lot of begrudgement if anyone has to plug their phone in more than once a day. I myself charge my phone many times a day with no bother. Let me explain.

I strictly keep to the 80/40 rule. I hate with a passion letting a battery run a long way down then waiting an hour to recharge. Once my battery reaches 80%, I use it for a good amount of time till about in the mid 60's. I then plug it in and by the time I have a small break, have a cup, a bit of food, call of nature etc, it's recharged back to 80%. It takes no time to go from 65 to 80, and this is not even fast charging, just regular charging.

This is a much more convenient way of using the phone I think than trying to make the battery last all day. Even if a phone can genuinely make it all day, it's not a good way to treat a battery. Li ion batteries like small, regular charges, not long recharges.

Also, I place my phone on a heatsink when recharging. It cools the phone which makes it charge faster. I have downloaded Goodlock with Routines set up and my phone goes into airplane mode whilst recharging. That combined with sitting it on a heatsink allows it to recharge very quickly on just standard charging. If you don't have a heatsink, just sit the phone on any piece of cold metal plate whilst charging.
