Nothing happens when i receive a text message

[AC Question]

For a few days now my new galaxy s7 has been doing nothing when i receive a text message. No audio , No vibration, No notification, No pop ups, No blue led. The only way i know i have a message is the the message icon on the home screen at the bottom. Phone is not on silent and sound is still set for notifications, everything still works fine for facebook and app messages but the default message program does nothing. I have tried resetting several times. Any other Ideads?

Try entering recovery, and Clear Partition Cache. No data will be loss.

Yes i just tried clearing cache in recovery mode but still no luck

Have you recently done a software update? If so which one?

And when you say, resetting, do you mean a full factory reset?

Try downloading a popular third-party text messaging app, just for troubleshooting purposes. See if you still have issues on a third party app.

Nar not factory reset just power on and off. Third party apps are working fine with notifications. It only seems to occur with the defult messaging app

No no software updates. Im pretty sure its still running on the software it comes standard with

Goto:Applications>Application Manager>Scroll over to "All">Scroll down to Messages>Select Clear Cache, Clear Data. Try that.

Your a legend! It wasnt the cache but when i went to applications>applications manager>messages for some reason notifications was set to block. No idea why they would be enabled in regular settings but disabled in the apps manager. But working good now
