Since it was Textra, I would definitely recommend emailing the app development team and telling them about your issue. They are very quick to respond and may offer you a few suggestions to try and fix the issue. I've contacted them a couple of times and they've always been super helpful!

Returning it...my Note 9 never had that issue.

S10e Verizon 128gb. I get a noticeable flicker when opening certain apps. When I open ESPN or Fox news, the screen noticeably brightens and when I close it, the screen returns to its previous brightness setting. It does not do it on some other apps, like Gmail or Google Maps,or Photos, Dark Sky, etc.. I have my screen brightness set manually to about 1/2. It does the same thing with adaptive brightness set on.

Any idea what could be causing this? Should I return/exchange the phone? Doesn't happen on my LG G7 or Pixel 3.

Update: Did a reset on my phone with the same results. I uninstalled and re-installed both Fox news and ESPN and still get the same brightness/dimming result.

Cleared data and cache from both apps. No help,

FIXED!!!: Turned Smart Stay OFF.. Woot!!!!!
