Notification bar color. can i change it?

Alright, so i was wondering if there was maybe an app that would let me change the color of my notification bar, or messaging app, or really anything..

or if i'd have to go in and physically make the changes myself..

Either way,, i want something haha

anyone have any ideas?

For the notification bar you can d/l themes..(check thread titled d/l themes etc)..for msg can dl a sms app like go sms or handcent allow u to change apperance etc.

[To add even more to whats suggested above, launchers such as adw, adw ex, launcher pro ect ect allow you to change the physical icon on your screen for stuff as well so if you download handcent and pick which notification icon to use in the settings of handcent, then want to change the icon on the homescreen, 3rd party launchers will allow for that kind of customization.

Otherwise to change the actual color of the notification bar (from white to black) you'd need to root and have a custom recovery then flash a theme as the notification bar colors and such are in the framework and you cant change those without root and recovery.

Customizing notification bar/tray

Is there a way to like change the color of the notification bar and the icons and all of that?

Can you do it without rooting? Cuz my phone isnt rooted and I'd prefer to keep it this way:-\

No way without rooting... unfortunately

that was my biggest issue with moving to an Optimus from a Hero, was the white notification bar (Hero had a black bar)
