Notification Light?

Got an Epic 4G Touch yesterday (yay!). I rooted it with Caulkin ROM. This phone is awesome. But the notification light either doesn't exist or doesn't work... I get notifications, but no light lights up! Any help on this? Thanks

Go to settings then display and make sure the notification light box is checked.

I'm not sure if it is the same when rooted but just so you know even when it does work there is a ton of time in between flashes

Just an update:
Don't call me stupid but..
My phone case was blocking the light.

I'm finished.
