Notification light?

Hmmmm ..., now that I think of it, I seem to remember on my Blackberry that you had to disable the native notifications in order for BerryBuzz to work properly. May have to look into that.

I tried undoing the native and enabling in LightFlow. UNdoing LightFlow and enabling Native. Undoing both and enabling in Handcent. None are consistent. I think I'll shoot a message to LightFlow guy and see if he knows anything about it with this being a new phone.

My biggest consistency problem seems to be with SMS. Almost never lights up for those. Tried both Handcent and native SMS app.

Do you mean it's inconsistent using Lightflow, or natively? I am considering this phone, and love that a manufacturer finally added some of this functionality. Wish they had gone all the way and allowed customization beyond contacts. Also wish there was native customization of alert tones for contacts, instead of just ringtones.

Actually, I really can't get it to light up for text messages in any form. I even deleted handcent and still can't get it to work. Not sure what I have going on with the settings. It's kind of confusing since you can set the phone to notify you and also the app itself. I'm not sure if one of them is overriding the other. Seems to be giving me email notices consistently.

I did undo the native selections and rebooted and that seemed to do the trick, though I only had 2 emails and one calendar item pop up after that, so don't know if it worked for all settings.

Have you tried the "light Manager" app?

I read somewhere - possible on the App description the the Play Store - that you had to root the phone for it to work; I'm too new to Android to want to go down that path just yet. Anybod know whether that's the case?

Now that you mention it ..., I'll have to pay attention to that one.

Took me a second, but I think I understand what Virgil52 is saying. Still, these two posts in succession made me LOL. ;)

I think he's saying his strobe on the back started activating during the night - maybe the flashlight function went a little bonkers - so he had to shut off the notifications altogether.

Ugh, someone please figure this out. I've tried every combination of options in the native LED control and Lightflow and cannot for the life of me get it to work. Some of the native ones work (charging for example), but other than that the LED won't display any notifications. I am rooted but really haven't done anything with root that should be related.

I'm glad it wasn't just me.

Where is the power save option at? I am pretty sure mine is off, but I can't fund it to check. LOL

SOLVED: Notification light?

Okay...well I've got it solved, but the solution sucks. You need to do a hard reset of the phone. I then installed Lightflow FIRST, then manually re-installed all my apps. Lightflow works like a champ.

I had e-mailed back and forth with the developer (a very helpful guy) and he had said this worked for one user. It's not clear if it's ONLY the hard reset that does it or if you still need to install Lightflow first. Easy enough for someone else to verify though.

I'm glad you got it to work. Just to the extent that it might help others, I installed Lightflow after all my apps, and never had a problem with it working. I may have had to do the hard reset; I think I recall cycling the phone, don't remember for certain.

Again, glad you got it working.

Re: SOLVED: Notification light?

Lightflow is awesome! Used it on my previous phone but haven't had time to set it up on my G2

Re: SOLVED: Notification light?

Re: SOLVED: Notification light?
