Why are the lights on the top left of my screen on?
They never used to stay on.

They even stay on when I power down and the phone is turned off.

Top left? To the left of the earpiece slot? That's the camera flash.
If the phone is shut all the way down, there should be no light on anywhere.
So far as I know, there is no notification LED on this phone.
There is a light to the right of the earpiece slot that will light up when charging and there is not enough power yet to turn on the phone.

I fixed it. Powered if off last night put on charge over night and it's back to normal this morning.

Just like a big computer...
Something gets wonky, restart program, restart system, reset and restore system.
