For some reason the notification menu on my tab s 10.5 sm-T805 stopped working today after the battery went flat and I turned it on after charging for some time. The two front buttons on the tablet (
back and multiwindow) are not responsive as well.

The things I have tried already.
Clearing partition cache.
Clearing all app cache.
Trying multiple loaders.
Installing an entirely new rom onto the tablet.
Restarting multiple times.
Taking the back off and manually restarting the battery.

The weird part about it is every time i restart the tablet the notification menu will pull down for a moment(before the wireless is even showing) but then it just stops working.

I was just curious if anybody has any idea of what it could be.

Here are a series of procedures (some repeats) of how to RESTART the Tab S

--------------

Wipe Cache Partition - Samsung Galaxy Tab® S

Warning Performing a wipe cache partition removes any temporary files that may be causing an issue with the device. All personal files and settings are not affected by this option.

Ensure the device is powered off.
Note If the device is unresponsive/frozen, press and hold the Power button (located on the top-left edge) for approximately 10 seconds or until the device power cycles.
Press and hold the Volume Up button (located to the right of the Power button; ensure right side of button is pressed) and the Home button (located at the bottom in the middle).
While continuing to hold the Home and Volume Up buttons, press and hold the Power button until 'RECOVERY BOOTING' appears in the upper left then release all buttons.
Select wipe cache partition.
Note Utilize the Volume Up/Down buttons to highlight and the Power button to select.
Select reboot system now.

--------------------------------

Only solution now is a hard reset. Going into recovery mode and wiping the entire device is the only way out. The secure lockscreen is there for a reason, and sorry to say this, but you can't register
fingerprints without setting an alternate password...

Usually turning the device on by holding the power + volume up + home button together until you see the Recovery Menu works.
............................

went for the factory reset (Volume up, Power button and Home button).

----------------------

Press and hold the Volume UP and Volume DOWN and Power button at the same time, 10 seconds. Tablet restart.

Hi, I have the same problem as below but when I do the volume up+power+home button the screen comes up with the green pic saying "downloading, do not turn off target" but that's it. Left it on overnight and also whole say while I was in work but when I came back it was exactly the same and I'm very frustrated now as I don't know what to do. I've got galaxy tab 4 and had it for couple of months only :-( what else can I try? Thank you.

If you have a Tab 4, there might be better information in a forum for that device. I'm not an android or Samsung expert but only copied that restart info from some other threads. But good luck and sorry for the late reply to a quote - I was on vacation with limited wifi access.
