Notification not staying on display

Hi

I have a Samsung S5 and want the new incoming text and email messages to stay on the display. My son has the S4 and his do.

Eg, I would like to be able see the header content without having to unlock the phone. In case it changes things, im connected to an exchange server.

Can anyone assist
