Notification problem!

on my wife's sprint galaxy S7 running android7.0. In the "App notifications" menu for all of the apps listed there is no choice for "On lock screen"
so that is Settings>notificatons>Advanced>"any application">there is no choice for "on Lock screen". the other choices are thre just ot that one.
Yes in settings>notifications & Security> Notifications on Lock Screen> is set to "show content".
something is up because she can not get notifications from our ring doorbell on her lock screen or her status bar. So is there a setting for show pop ups also? Although th eproblem is not just with this app.
