Notification problems

Having the watch paired with the phone via BT uses much less battery than Standalone Mode, whether NumberSync is enabled or not.

Is your GPS on? I think when gps is on and the watch has bt, it's getting GPS from the phone. (read that somewhere but not sure where). Curious if you turn location off whether standalone power consumption is closer to bt power consumption. Location includes network location data so that may impact (lower power than GPS?)

Not sure on the differences of battery consumption with GPS in the watch being on or off. I always leave GPS in the watch on. Under location settings the options when on are GPS & Wireless Networks,Wireless Networks, or GPS. I use the first option.

Standalone mode is different than remote connected mode. I don't know if there's a difference in battery life. I charge my S3 ~ 1 hour/day (I'm wearing it the other 23). And using it as my only phone.

I was merely suggesting that if BT connection is problematic, going remote connected might be a viable option.

Yes, standalone and remote connected mode are different. I had the Gear S2 3G previously and before NumberSync was launched those were the 2 options. Standalone whether the watch was not tethered to the phone and either the watch using the assigned number to send/receive calls, notifications, etc or having the calls, notifications, etc remotely forwarded by virtue of the settings in Gear Manager. The Gear S3 Frontier in my experience uses its battery more efficiently than the Gear S2 3G. That battery would run down much faster when the watch was not connected to my Note5.

Again, I always have the watch location settings set to on using GPS and Wireless Network.

If you used your Gear S3 Frontier while tethered to a phone via BT, I would believe your watch battery would last twice as long. There are times when I am away from my phone due to work situations so having the connected e-SIM comes in handy in order to still be contacted.
