Notification Screen Color Change Needed

Is there anyway to change the color of the Notification Screen, the pull down bar screen on a stock
Epic? The dark color with gray notifications are so hard to read.
Running stock launcher.

Maybe if your lucky to find a theme that goes deep enough with a 3rd party launcher like LP or ADW, GO Launcher but otherwise I think seeing how its a combination of png (image) changes and also font color mods that need to be done this may still yet fall under the rooting category.

I remeber seeing either apk's or probably zip files for invisible notification screens, but since I'm on the Nexus S, I haven't kept up.
And I don't believe those launchers go that deep, I have used them up until ICS and they really just change icons and some screens, such as phone.
My bar on my Nexus is dark, only one notification is too dark to read, the others are in white font.
Changing the font color would work, but like you said, probably needs rooted. I had this phone rooted, went back to stock for 2.3.7, and cannot get the dang thing done again.
Tried everything, including keyboard fix, but all that did was not long you pickup a call or hear the caller - yes, that is wierd. Probably need to try again, but my family (its my husband's phone) seem to go on the defensive when I start hacking their phones and then they sometimes do strange things - not work when they need them - can you imagine that???

What are items in notification panel are you having an issue with? The notification panel changed colors with GB.

Some apps or widgets that use the norification panel have an option to change the text color to white.....

I have the same problem, but it extends to other areas as well . The bluetooth status icon as well as mail waiting are a dark grey . When I use voice recognition and android presents several options the font is in the same dark grey and can hardly be seen . I'm okay with the font size but just want to change the font color to white. I am posting this from my phone but will take a screenshot and upload it in followup message .
