Notification sound when headphones are connected

I connected my Huawei FreeArc headphones to my Samsung Galaxy phone. The sound is perfect, as are the settings. However, I don't know how to set them up so that I can hear incoming notifications from various apps. I can't hear them in my headphones, and I can't hear them on my phone either (only the vibration works) when the headphones are connected.
