Notification tone issue

So as of yesterday my phone is only playing the first split second of my text tones. All the other ones seem to be playing fine, it is just the one I have set for text messages.

I've rebooted the phone and also tried different ones, including the stock ones. Any one else having this problem?

found a solution on XDA; remove the auto delete of texts feature so it doesnt delete the messages after 200
