Notification Windows

Ever since one ui 8 update (although it could be unrelated for all I know) when I get a google message or gmail notification and I pull down to see it then click on the notification I get the message or email in a little window on top of whatever app I'm using.

It used to just open the app and show a full sized page. That is my strong preference. I hate the little windows. Is there a setting so I never get the little windows? AFAIK I cannot even make them bigger.

Your help would be appreciated!

That's not default behavior. Do you have GoodLock installed?

Yes but the behavior I described does not happen on the lock screen. I've been working on it since posting and I think I solved it in app notifications by unchecking picture in picture capability. It was hard to find. I never even knew there was such a setting.
