Please forgive me if this has been covered but I'm a Android newbie and have searched without any results.

I have moved from a BB Tour to the HTC Incredible and really like the Android OS.

A few things I really rely on though I can't seem to replicate on Android. The most important is the "Level 1" or high importance message tagging. With BIS I could setup a filter so that any emails with a specific word or words in the subject line or from a specific email address caused a different alert on the BB when received.

Also, I can't find many options for different notifications like a specific one for emails, another for SMS, another for voice mails, etc.

Thanks for the help!

Go into the settings for each app and try setting notifications within the apps.

As for something equivalent to Level 1 -- you'd need to find an app that supports custom notifications. Touchdown allows me to do this for email but it's mostly only for Exchange accounts.

As takeshi pointed out, your default notification sound within settings will be the sound used for all notifications (sms, mms, e-mail, etc.). However, any application i've used so far allows you to set a specific notification sound that overrides the default. In terms of the equivalent of Level 1, that I am not sure about.

I am a current BB user and have 25 or so filters set up to control what work (Exchange) emails route to my phone - only about 30% of emails go to my phone. I also use filters to set notification level.

I'm due for a phone upgrade and would like to get the DI but need to know if I can duplicate this functionality. Not being able to duplicate the filtering is a definite deal-breaker....

TIA for any info!

Update:I got a app called "GMail Label Notifier"...it serves the same purpose and is really much more flexible since you can assign unique alerts to each trigger You just need to setup filters in Gmail to apply a label. I have been using it a week or so now and it seems to work great.
