When i receive a notification while my s7 edge is charging, the screen does not go into sleep mode but instead just stays on and takes away fast charging since it can only be fast charged while the screen is shut off. Is there a fix for this without disabling my notifications?

Welcome back! Are your Developer Options turned on? If so, go to Settings>Developer Options, and make sure the Keep Screen Awake option is off.

If you don't see Developer Options anywhere in your System Settings, then it wasn't turned on, and this wouldn't be the cause of your issue.

The Developer Options menu by default is not activated--you have to go to Settings>About Phone and tap Build Number 7 times. This activates Developer Options and allows you to tweak various settings, one of which is the ability to keep the screen on all the time while it's plugged in. Sometimes the cellphone store rep might turn this on while they're transferring your data from another phone to the new phone, just so that the screen doesn't keep turning off while they're working on it. Then they forget to turn that feature off.

That is exactly what happened. They turned on my developer settings in my previous phone and the settings got imported to the new phone but the developer options were not visible until I tapped 7 times. Thank you for the tip. This hopefully solved the issue

Same issue here, but in developer options, the stay awake is turned off? I am on GS7 edge. Any ideas?

I finally figured it out thankso everyone!! I went to options and typed in developer options and the stay awake was on! Thank goodness I found it cuz it was really driving me nuts!! :)
