Notifications not working when phone is in sleep mode

How have you configured SleepMode in your arrangement and with respect to notifications? By default, I think SleepMode includes turning on DoNotDisturb and then that means some impact on notifications based also on how DoNotDisturb is configured.

I went into DND and configured it to specifically allow notifications from X. The only app I want notifications from.

When you review what you have for your Sleep mode's settings, does it also indicate that it will allow notifications from that app when the mode is active? I found modes to be a bit confusing with respect to DoNotDisturb since it almost seems to offer two different places where things like notifications can be set, in terms of what one might have set in DoNotDisturb settings and then separately what one might have set within the mode itself for when that mode is active. I think of DoNotDisturb as basically a specialty mode. And, I think it isn't hard to unintentionally set things that conflict with each other. Probably also why it seems they got rid of DoNotDisturb on some devices or for one of the beta versions (but I think that just annoyed and confused people further).

I deleted the default Sleep mode and don't use it because it screwed with my watch in a way I had no control over for changing the displays. Then, I created my own "Bedside" mode. In both DoNotDisturb and my Bedside mode, I have them set to only allow the exact same certain app notifications scenarios through (because for me that's what I wanted), and for me it all works. However, my DoNotDisturb is probably quite different than what most have. Mine basically silences all sounds from anything except certain apps for certain contacts, while still allowing the actual notifications to be displayed normally.

Have you checked your sleeping apps? Samsung is hyper sensitive to apps running in the background and will often ask if you want to put a app to sleep that it sees as running excessively. What it doesn't tell you is this is a big and permanent change to the apps behavior. Apps that have been put to sleep will often not send notifications, until opened, and will stop working if the screen is put to sleep.

To check and correct this navigate to the following. Settings>Device care>Battery touch the word>Background usage limits>Sleeping apps/Deep sleeping apps. Check to see if the app you're having issues with appears in either of these lists and remove it if it does. Test and let us know if this corrects your issue.

It wasn't listed in either place.

Which S24 do you have?

It sounds like you've looked at every settings, twice, have you cleared the cache for X or your device's partition cache?

The app
Settings>Apps>X>Storage>Clear cache/Clear data. For an app like X, you could clear the app data and not lose anything. Well anything except the settings you've changed, and if it is a setting that somehow was accidentally changed clearing the app data or uninstalling and reinstalling the app works to get everything back to default.

The device
To clear the device cache partition Power the device off>hold the Vol + button and the power button until the Samsung splash screen shows and then release the power button, holding the volume rocker until the device is fully booted>use the volume buttons to navigate and the power button to select and select Clear Cache Partition>when complete use the reboot option to reboot the phone.

Let us know if either of these gets it working.
