hello all new here, just got a moto x over the weekend. my poor BB tourch died friday (RIP) still in the learning curve. anyway i have the notifications ring tone turned on for e-mail but i dont get any auditable notification, anyone care to tell me what a am doing worng

Are you getting your mail through gmail?
That's my first guess. That you're not using the phone's email app to pull in emails, but instead only seeing gmail through Google's app.

no gmail for me using my outlook address that i entered using the email app on the phone
