Nova launcher and the notch

It's out possible to get the notch to show up on the home screen with Nova launcher?

The notch is part of the phone, it's not something on the screen.

Ok let me rephrase that. is there any way to make the screen extend all the way up on both sides with Nova Launcher. on the home screen.

I haven't tried Nova with the G7, but the pixel launcher plays nicely.

I use Nova and it's not a setting in the launcher. it's the setting in the phone that makes the notch appear or disappear.

What setting? i have it on but it doesn't show. it Will appear in apps and on the recents screen

You have to go to the settings, under 'Look & Feel' and enable 'Show the notification bar'.

I always had this off on previous phones because it made that bar permanent (instead of auto hiding it) but with my new notch-having phone, it shows a black bar there instead. It basically acts like you've told the phone to hide the notch, info still displays on the black bar.

But with Nova, it's just this setting. Then your OS settings will display properly (show notch). It was pissing me off with my wallpapers. I tried 4 different apps + a generic pic, always seeing the notch on the way to the homescreen then it would click off.

Finally went digging and found this setting, only after finding you asking the same question.

So yes, it's a mislabeled Nova setting for notch phones and accurate in all other contexts. Worth letting them know about it.

thanks that got it. i usually have my notification bar hidden and use a gesture to toggle it when i want to see it. removing the toggle feature and restarting NL did it.
