Nova Launcher in the G4

Does Nova provide great support and app for the camera? Photo quality is good as default os? How to install?

Nova is a home screen launcher, not an OS. You install it by downloading it from the Play Store then setting is as your default home launcher in the phone's settings under "Home Screen".

Then how does nova help battery?

Nova launcher works great on the G4, just need to double click status bar to tap off works perfectly. Love this phone even better than my G3.

Ok, so just more friendly control?

Yes, basically. Control grid size, icon size, app drawer background, animations, gestures, load icon packs, to name just a few. It adds a ton of flexibility and customization.

I love the customization features of Nova. Don't forget to save your layout (i.e. settings backup) when you're done.

I'm using Nova Launcher (free?) on my G4. Yeah, it broke the double tap to turn off the display, but I found an app with an icon you single tap. Works just as well. Thought I was gonna hate it, but got used to it quick. As others have said, you can still double tap the top menu bar to turn off as well. ;)

Thanks everyone for all the feedback! I went ahead and took advantage of the Cyber Monday sale at BestBuy and bought one for me and my wife (a G4 for a $1, WHAT???). Now just patiently waiting for the phones to arrive....

Hope you guys enjoy. It's a really great phone. I got mine back in early June and I love it more as time has passed. Can't wait for Marshmallow!

I've used Nova for the longest time but have since switched to LG stock UI since the G3 and still on my G4. I never really ran into issues.

I bring you tidings of great joy, as the new Nova Beta includes a gesture to turn off the screen with a double tap. No more need for another third party app to do that, or to only be able to tap the notifications bar.

It works great, too.

Just noticed that when I seen it in my device administrators. Great addition.

I've been meaning to give the stock UI a try since 6.0 arrived but I've used Nova for so long as it's running so well that there's really no reason to change back.

The only thing I really miss with running Nova is the ability to swipe down on the screen (when off) and peek at the time and date.

love nova prime on my g4. i also use omni swipe for things i want quick access to. been loving the switch from my z30. the customization of android is awesome

The lower swipe on the home screen to see notifications without the quick settings is nice too. Can that be done on the stock launcher? I was trying earlier but couldn't.
