Nova, themes & Icons

Starting to play around with customizing my interface with Nova and the default themes as well.

My "problem" is when I change a theme, it will not change the icon pack, presumably because Nova is controlling that. However, when I go to change that in the Nova setting, the icon pack(s) for the default theme manager are not in the same location where theme packs from the playstore are stored. Meaning I cannot use the default theme icons on any theme....is there a solution? Maybe I need a different launcher?

The icons can only be used in TouchWiz. Other launchers won't see them.

Yeah I found that too. Main reason that this is the first phone in years I don't use Nova on.

I have a nexus 6p and use nova prime with ruggon icons and love it

Yeah, I guess you can't have your cake and eat it too. Is Nova still the top of the food chain?

There are some stock looking icon packs in the Play store.
I also would like a way to use icons from the theme I have but can't find a way.

I am trying out Awesome Icons right now and seems to be OK. It creates shortcuts using icons from any source so you can use the stock icons as well!

Still not happy with this combination....

Any idea why the themes on XDA won't work with the theme store? I ask because after the last update, they're no longer an option either as you no longer have access to one of the features that must be disabled.
