November Security Patch Now Live -- Updated @ 11/5 1PM EST)

You will be waiting few days, with T-Mobile SIM I have always seen it's couple of days later and combine that with slow roll out. But never had to wait when sideloading is an option

Also sidenote to someone else who asked, check for update button does nothing. They had fixed sometime back where it'll force the update with check for update but it's back to being useless and not doing anything for sometime now.

I don't want to sideload. I want Google to send me updates, lol

If you are on TMobile and don't want to wait or don't want to sideload you can try below. Some one on Reddit posted that this method worked for them.

"I got the update by taking my sim card out ( leave the sim card out ) then reset the wifi mobile and Bluetooth. Then I restarted my phone. Reconnect your phone to Wifi. I had to check for update 3 times until the update showed up! After the update is complete put the sim card back in."

Re: So who has the November Security Patch?

It's there now - 2PM EDT.

They probably included what would have been the October patches (which, remember, roll out the door to the manufacturers at the beginning of September, so they were probably ready by the middle of August) in the ROM as initially shipped.

OK. If the October patches were included, then why didn't Google call the Security Patch Level October instead of September? None of this makes sense to me.

I'm not attempting to minimize your question or maybe I'm missing your overall point but does it matter what we call it? All I know is I have the November update. Apologies in advance that I don't quite get it.

nothing to get too anxious about. It's only a security update. It will come.

My two week old Pixel 3 says: "Your system is up to date, Security path level: September 5, 2018."

I'm new to Android, so go easy on me. I know nothing of side-loading... will my phone update automatically eventually? Or do I need to take some sort of action?

It should eventually. You don't have to worry about it :)

Make sure you are on wifi.

Go to settings.
Go to the bottom of the settings.
Look for software update
Ask yer pixel to check for a software update.

I've actually done that several times. And it says still says my system is up to date. With the Sept 5 2018 security patch level.

I had understood that I could click on "System Update" and I would get an immediate update. I click on "System Update" repeatedly and it apparently is no longer connected to anything at all. Many on the forum have gotten their update and I still don't have my "timely" security update.
