November Security Update (Also Saturation/Nav Bar Fade Update)

Re: November Security Update

And I like your input too . . even though I p!$$ed you off a couple months ago :rolleyes

Almeuit is just jealous because he got the tuxedo model and it clashes with his jeans.

this is bull****.. I seriously am stuck with beta OS builds now?

All of the drawbacks of using a beta OS were clearly shown to you when you signed up for the beta program. You had to click OK in order to join the program.

Running a beta OS has a lot of drawbacks. And really the only plus is that you get to run on the bleeding edge, see updates as they are being developed, before they are finalized.

And that is the nature of the beast. If you can't live with this then you should leave the beta program at once.

And, BTW, if you're looking for someone to blame...

Okay I'm back, after the update I reinstalled my Cricket SIM, choose not to change colors, happy with what I got from the factory regular pixel 2//uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171107/69613b287ddeaff03d98600c4a48d0d9.jpg//uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171107/c0d3cabdcb08425d1b42e23c93814520.jpg
New colors in this order, saturated, natural, boosted, reg Pixel 2//uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171107/c6b060c8a99ec7059e1d06fea763c999.jpg//uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171107/3c90f3e222bd6ea25863c1c87110b53c.jpg//uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171107/90667177ac1126d21b6dfed831eec01f.jpg
Doesn't look that different in pictures posted, but the different levels really make a difference, natural seems a little dull compared to boosted, saturated way too much

Posting screen shots doesn't tell us what your screen looks like. It's not capturing the screen....its capturing output to the screen

The beta builds are on a 6 week update schedule. The next update should be around December 6th or so and would include the December security update.

Wait.. what about back ups? Could I restore my data after a wipe but without the 8.1?

Also, please stop quoting me after this. Can't turn off notifications for mods quoting me.

Quoting makes the forum flow better when others are responding to someone. If you keep getting notifications you can turn them off on the desktop site here -- https://forums.androidcentral.com/profile.php?do=editoptions. In there you can turn the "Quote" notification to off :).

As for back ups you should be able to restore apps and such just like you did at the start.

Also ..

So then this new "Update button actually works now" .. Really doesn't in reality

I had no issues hitting the button and having the update come to my phones. In some cases after you leave the update page, the update will show in your status bar, but I updated my Pixel 1 & 2 and my Nexus 6p last night. Both Pixels showed the download right after hitting the check for update button, the 6p showed up in the status bar after about 5-10 mins.

If you have your contacts in Google Contacts, and your calendar in Google Calendar, and your photos in Google Photos, then most of the rest is just re-downloading the apps from Google Play.

Unfortunately, you'll lose all of your settings, so it's worth a few minutes noting the settings you've made. I wish there was a way to export your settings and then import then later, but there isn't.

If you have documents you don't want to lose on your phone, you can use something like Google Drive or Dropbox to back them up to the cloud.

Still waiting on this update(unlocked). Does anyone know if subsequent updates are pushed out in the same order so those waiting will always be waiting longer? I don't mind waiting , was curious about the que protocals is all.

Got my Pixel 2 (5") update on Project Fi last night by hitting the check for updates button. It completely fixed my ticking both on phone calls and if the screen was simply awake and I put it against my ear in a silent room. Whatever software fix they applied seems to be something other than simply turning off NFC during phone calls.

No, there isn't a queue in quite that way.
