My annual order Verizon vs unlocked debate. Every year I ponder this and am told that there is no difference from Google and that there is from Verizon. Verizon will tell you that the unlocked version will not operate as well on their network.

My experience, having owned all three Pixels and going both routes, I don't know the answer. During Verizon network troubleshooting, I've had Verizon tech's tell me that they had to make changes to my account because I didn't buy a Verizon Pixel.

Can't tell you that I'm convinced with that answer and I don't know enough to offer a valuable opinion.

Lol at the clueless Verizon reps. Usual bull**** from them, it’s the same phone. Since it’s a Pixel buying from Verizon or Google store unlocked shouldn’t matter since Google doesn’t bend over fully like Samsung, LG and make customized crippled firmware for carriers and you get software updates on same day on verizon just like unlocked.

If you want to buy from Verizon for deals or whatever reason then do it since it’s no different than google store unlocked.

i cancelled my 64gb orange through google and went with the 128gb in white unlocked from amazon with 100$ amazon gift card. says it will arrive 10/23 with 2 day shipping free for Prime members....

I wanted to add that I couldn't find it in a search either. That's odd. I used a direct link on Slick Deals.

I wasn't going to pre-order, figured I'd wait til Black Friday and see what the deals are but with the Amazon pre-order I get a gift card, and I can use the bajillion points I have from my Amazon credit card to make the price rather a bit more tolerable. I also miss having Fi as my network so here we go again. I went for a Clearly White 128 gig. Let's see how this goes.

I've decided to hold off until I learn about battery life and consumption on the smaller Pixel 4. Also I'm a bit disappointed in soli only having 3 main tricks off the bat. Lastly, I'm a huge fan of the fingerprint scanner. Not opposed to moving up, just want to wait and hear feedback.

I just can't bring myself to do it this year. OnePlus 7T gives me faster processor with 128Gb memory and 90Hz screen with more RAM. Getting the same storage on a Pixel 4XL will cost me $400 more.

I know the Pixel camera experience will trounce the OnePlus, but that is too high a Google tax for me.

One Plus is by far the better option. You also will get a much better looking phone too, opposed to the absolutely atrocious looking Pixel 4.

So I ordered the orange phone immediately after the Google event and things went live on the store. I got an email later that night that said it was on its way. I have a FedEx tracking number that shows it's in my city. Then it got delayed until today the 17th.

I just got an email that said Google requested that the order be returned to them.

After a long customer service chat, they assured me it was a mistake and that nothing should be shipping out until November 6.

I feel like crap and I'm considering cancelling my order.

Yeah not happening, they might start processing over weekend generating shipping label etc but it won’t leave the warehouse until Monday. General shipping logistics.
