*Obligatory 'I ordered my Pixel 4' thread!

After getting home from work and seeing the hand-on videos from the usual tech YouTubers I'm kinda second guessing my choice of the orange Pixel 4. All three colours look really good to me in their own way. Ugh

I'm gonna thread jack my own thread for anyone on the fence... After having the Pixel 3XL for 6 months (after previously having the Pixel 2XL), I got bored with it and bought the Note 9 as well as the One Plus 7 Pro (12GB/256GB).

I only had the Note for a few weeks as the bloat was horrible, and the forced beauty mode made taking pictures of pets impossible.

The OP7P was the absolute best phone over all that inhsve ever, ever owned. Buuuuttt... The camera was just so important to me, and no gcam port in the work compares to an OEM pixel device.

I went back to the Pixel 3XL and have not looked back again...

Yep, those colours definitely look snazzy.

I planned on getting the black til I saw that it was glossy. Now IDK.

I know, and after immediate unboxing it looks awesome, like a perfect piece of obsidian. But no doubt it'll be a fingerprint magnet.

The white looks great too with the contrasting matte black frame and orange accent power button.

The orange has a similar two-tone aesthetic that's nice, and it's a unique colour for a phone. Plus a limited run.

Hard to choose for sure.

none of you guys paid for the preferred care. it's not worth it?

I don’t buy phone insurance since i can pay for repairs or replacement in case if anything happens from all the money i have saved not paying for phone insurance over the last decade

And most of the insurance isn’t even good since they have deductibles on top of monthly or one time payment. Either way it’s not for me personally.

I switched my order to Amazon. Easier to deal with and I like the $100 Amazon gift card compared to the $100 google store gift card. Also the Amazon gift cards you will get immediately within few days unlike the google store one which takes few weeks to reflect on the account. And last year they screwed me of the pre order credit since i had to exchange for the defective phone and never credited the preorder gift to my google account.

Only disadvantage is they don’t have the 128GB models for the oh so orange on Amazon. I was conflicted between white and orange anyway so went with 128 GB 4 XL clearly white. Ships on 21st and delivers on 23rd.

Those who ordered via google store might want to take a look at Amazon and they deliver on 23rd. Better customer support compared to Google and being prime member i prefer Amazon.

$100 Gift card arriving Thursday and 4 XL on 23rd.

$100 Amazon gift card definitely beats Google's $100 store credit.

Google's promotions are straight up disappointing. It doesn't feel like they're trying hard enough to tempt people.

And forgot about the 5% cash back on my Amazon card. So it’s like additional 5% off compared to google store.

I ordered the 64 Orange. Should have it by 10/21. I pre-ordered as soon as it went live. I'm glad I did. I'm seeing wait times now of 3-4 weeks. Would be nice if they surprised us with a early delivery.

Me too - but my arrival date is 10/23 or 24 - you beat me by a couple of days - ;)

Haha... True.. By the way, I bought this outright so I still have my pixel 3xl, OP7P and OP6t. Lol. I need to offload.
Yeah... I'm tired if collecting. Held on to some devices past their useful resale life. I never have to worry about a back up.... Lol. Glad I traded the 3XL for 600 though.

Mike, Lol!

Verizon's monthly coverage is actually pretty rock solid and worth the money and piece of mind IMO.
Yeah.... frequent phone flyers are better off with monthly insurance than a one time purchase but it adds up.

When you say beauty mode do you mean the scene optimizer?

If Google had made the black model matte, boy, it'd be a different playing field between the colors. I would have seriously considered it. I hope someone does a 3D mock up or something.

In regards to the Orange model, I can't wait to see what "Limited Edition" actually means. Will it just disappear from the order page or will it just be one of those constantly "sold out" type things? I also hope we get to the bottom of exactly why Google decided this color -- arguably the best and most recognizable Pixel color, which could have helped branding -- should be in limited availability or supply. Is it a manufacturing issue -- is it just not possible to keep churning out this color? Or is it to create hype and demand? Hope we find out because it's rough grappling around Google's decision making here.
