I do this too ^^^. My carrier is Google Fi which suits my phone needs best. I have no complaints about them other than their customer service is no where near as good as it was when they 1st started out. In all fairness, nobody's customer service is what it used to be - JMHO
I also use Google Fi and buy all my phones outright unlocked. I know it's not for everyone, but it's the best way to go if you can afford it IMO.
I switch between a lot of phones throughout the year, but the Pixel is always my main phone after I've used the others, because it uses the full capability of Google Fi.
