Spare phone

Actually, v13 AnyKernel edition DOES reverse the home/menu buttons on my V! Just flashed it (and confirmed buttons reversed). I did a straight flash to a rooted stock (pure stock from store, NOT RevolutionRed's stock which has fix for reversed home/menu built into ROM, and which would mask a kernel-only button reversal). I wonder if the stock which is installed on your phone is RevolutionRed's stock (your prior post suggests that it might be, since you refer to XioniaVM (i.e., RevolutionRed's name for his based-on-stock ROM which has the key reversal fix))??

Which brings me back to an earlier question for Zefie in this thread: Any chance we will see some v13 love for the Optimus V (i.e., an updated to your Xionia goodies in the Optimus V thread). Would LOVE both an updated kernel (based on v13) and an updated CWMA recovery (based on v.6). Thanks in advance for an answer, Zefie.

I know zefie needs no one to say anything, but do you have a spare Optimus V that you can send to zefie, so that he can test his work? This would help, if he chooses to do work for the V.

ah, yes, my stock backup is fragged, it is RevReds stock I tried. Drat, I thought I had new information here. Oops!
Button switch or not, love this kernel, and have had no issues at all since going to LGE-based ROM.

This may sound very stupid but I have installed the CM7 Gingernread ROM by zefie and was wondering which Kernel in the first thread do I need? Or, do I need any kernel at all from this thread?

"[03172011] Xionia v013 for faster performance and compatibility with newer HW revisions
[03172011] Synced with upstream and more manual cherry-picks from android_vendor_cyanogen upstream"

From the first post of the CM7 topic - already has V-013 included!
No extra flashing required - you are all upgraded!

I don't have a spare one, but I've been using v13 for a bit on my V. It has been working fine. No bugs so far.

FYI, It doesn't reverse the keys on the V. Your keys are mapped out in a text file called \system\user\keylaylout\thunder_keypad.kl.

Help, what am I doing wrong?

I'm running VD with ThundeROM 1.8.2. When I flashed v013 my memory went from 105MB before to 2.5MB afterwards. I wiped both the cache and the dalvik-cache before flashing the kernel.

What did I forget to do?:(

I just had the same issue with the same combination.

Is anyone experiencing the home and menu keys being swapped on aosp rom when using v13 on a sprint Optimus S

Have you flashed the Sprint thing for AOSP? His port was made for the V so the buttons are reversed right off the bat.

The buttons dont switch for me til i flash the kernel(v13). when i run the rom off the bat after flashing the sprint port the phone operates normal but soon as i flash v13 it flips the two buttons. Other than that v13 runs great with AOSP rom.

I'd suggest flashing the sprint fix after the kernel, perhaps?

Wait, I think you are confused. CM7 is a ROM and Reborn is also a ROM. So, which are you using?

Reborn has picasticks kernel built in and I don't remember what CM7 has but they are both overclockable as is.

Ahh, I got it now.

CM7 already has Xionia v013 kernal built into the Rom. So your good to go there.

And as I stated before, Reborn has picasticks v7 kernel built into the Rom. This is a good kernal also, and you can overclock with it. But ultimately, yes, you could run Xionia v013 with reborn if you wanted to. But I think you will need to flash the (Experimental AnyKernel Edition).
