October Update N10+ Unlocked

I'm on T-Mobile, which doesn't seem to have released ASI3 yet, even for the unlocked Note10s.

T-Mobile seems to have a history of testing more thoroughly than other carriers, and holding back on releases until they work properly. When the Note9 updated to Android 9, it broke the compass for about a month for most carriers. T-Mobile didn't release an update until that was fixed.

sprint sprint sprint sprint they are fu'd

Glad to see this update so quickly as it patches multiple severe vulnerabilities. Feels weird not having to wait having the unlocked model in the U.S.

After installing the update on 1 October on my Note 10+, my music started glitching/skipping like on an old CD when played through bluetooth or headphones, anyone know how to fix this?

Just always odd how updates will bork or brick a device. Makes you wonder what went wrong. Hopefully you find a solution but at some point it may require a reset.

very odd indeed. thanks. hoping next sec update and some app updates will fix it. odd that two camera updates, one sep and one with the sec update were required.

thing about fr is that it doesn't always fix what's broken. so if I do it and it clears my camera settings and I still can't get in, then I really am borked.

You're right. The Oct 1 patch doesn't address the zero-day vulnerability that's been getting a lot of attention, but it does fix other problems rated as critical.

Is there a current zero-day vulnerability other than CVE-2019-2215? That one hasn't been shown to afflict the Note10s, as far as I know. And it's not fixed until the Oct 6 security patch, according to Android's documentation:
https://source.android.com/security/bulletin/2019-10-01.

But the firmware updates rolling out now (ASJ2 for the N975F, ASI3 for the N975U1) only have a security patch level of Oct 1. Conceivably, Samsung has patched the vulnerability (if any) separately, though.

There was an article released a couple of days ago where Samsung's One UI had some Vulnerabilities alongside Androids. This is probably the fix for the Samsung ones.

OP updates are so frequent as they are usually bug fixes
.

My past 3 notes ( and maybe my N7 Fireball, I can't remember) have had at least monthly security updates as a minimum. Every month. What more could you ask for?
I just like getting updates. Not as often as OnePlus but more often then the current rate. XD

They want Google Pixel release timeframes. Lol.

I decided not to wait for T-Mobile, so I installed N975U1UES1ASI3 (from SamMobile) on my unlocked Note10+ using Odin v3.13.3. So far, I've had no problems. I specifically checked access to my Camera settings (default camera app) and music over headphones with Google Play Music, and everything seems normal.

The firmware version number indicates that this is a security-only update.
