Odd experience after underwater use.

Hmmm. I had no problems with mine in the water but after seeing all the people who have, I purchased a unicorn beetle super case, just to be safe.

I just googled that case, it doesn't seem to offer any water resistance, did I find the wrong thing?

After reading the comments here, I too am leary to take mine into the water. That was one of the major selling points of the phone to me too. I just ordered usb and headphone plugs. I guess with those, if I thought it was important to get a quick underwater photo, I might try it, although knowing me, by the time I want to do that, I will have misplaced them!

If I wanted to take pictures underwater for any length of time, I wouldn't trust that. Are there any waterproof cases for the S6 Active? I'm guessing there aren't since the phone is already supposed to be waterproof.

It's a full body case with covers for the headphone and charger port. Kind of like the Otterbox Defender just cheaper

Let us know how things turn out

After about 10 days, I've got my Active back from the RSI repair center. The navigation buttons were replaced along with the LCD for the 2nd time. I guess something happened to the LCD when the water got inside but I didn't notice any thing after it dried. There was no charge for this repair and I hope all goes well from here on out. Unfortunately, I'm not planning on taking it anywhere near water because I'm really not sure how well they re-sealed the casing. Apparently, there is some QC check that the phone went through, but I doubt they subjected it to any moisture tests.

Samsung customer service is a challenge in itself. My persistence and documentation of all phone calls along with follow-ups, shouldn't be necessary to get a phone repaired in a timely manner. For those of you needing a repair on this specific device due to some issue with water, bring yourself up to speed on what the owner's manual states, what the website advertises and what IP68 actually means. Be prepared to explain your situation multiple times to a number of reps and keep calling until you get someone that truly understands what is going on.

I just rinsed mine off and the screen started to flip over and over, and the charging port message kept going on and off rapidly. I dried it off quickly and tried to hold the power button down to reboot. It came back up with a green screen that stated that it was "downloading to host" and had small colored messages in the upper left corner (like it was looking to do a factory image). I called tech support and they had me hold down the power button and the down volume button at the same time. It rebooted and all worked fine. BUT, I'm really concerned that it freaked out with just some water running over it. I didn't even submerge it. BAD experience and now I don't trust this phone around ANY water.... Anyone else have a similar issue?

Works great for me

I have taken my s6 active under water more then a dozen times and only thing I found you need to do for it to work 100% correctly again is suck the water out of the charging port and headset jack.

If the plugs are in, they
're supposed to withstand IP69 - IOW, under IP68 conditions, no water should get into the jacks. I think Samsung has a bit of rethinking to do on the design. They're not actually meeting IP68 specs.

Exactly
Agree

I had a similar experience... my thoughts went to my screen protector as well.

The touch screen isn't supposed to work underwater, so I wonder if there is some sensor that is being disrupted.
