I called my local AT&T in So. CA and asked about the Inspire. They said they got them in today and the cost is $99 for new or upgrade and $499 off contract. BUT, they cannot sell them off contract. They are selling them for $299 if you are still in contract and want to renew for another 2 years.

Why wouldn't AT&T sell them off contract? Wouldn't they make more money that way? I'm getting mine monday so if the AT&T store won't sell it off contract, Best Buy is next door.

I have been told the same thing. I went to 2 COR stores today in Atlanta metro looking for the $399 price. I even had one guy pull this forum up to see the $399 tag. He showed me $479 in their system on the computer. Not sure which is going to be correct.

So AT&T is still listing the No Commitment Price @ $399.99, but you may want to hold off @ggong5150: BestBuy is listing the very same device at $599.99... Has BestBuy not caught on yet, or are they really selling it for $200 more than AT&T off-contract?

Thanks for the heads up! I'm out of town and where I'm staying there's an ATT store and BB in the same shopping center so looks like I'll check out BB and if they're selling it at that price find out what's the deal and I'll buy it at ATT and maybe save the gift cards and get an Atrix too. Still have an hour till both stores open!

just so people know, i talked to BB and they PRICE MATCH, so if you bring proof to them that the phone is cheaper somewhere else, they will macth it

Yeah, they did! They called AT&T and price matched at 399, and also picked up an Invisible Shield too!

Think I am going to take a visit to AT&T.

Just checked my account online and contract free price is $239.

Get some discount due to where I work but can't ignore that price ! Will use the upcoming contract for a Atrix or be patient and see about a iPhone 5.
