So after bringing my watch home I paired it to a Moto z force. Worked ok for a couple of hours. Then it died with a unresponsive condition till stuck in the charger. Then I got a heat warning just a couple of minutes after restarting. Then it wouldn't find the mobile network. Talked on the phone with Verizon. After a bit of stuff told to bring it into a store for an exchange. Hopefully when I do this tomorrow I'll get a good one. It will be my third smartwatch and they were all pretty good. My old gear 2 with camera still works fine. Just don't own a Samsung phone after the note 7 bullstorm.

It didn't go well when I tried to exchange the faulty device. Got nothing but a bunch of attitude from the rep and manager. So it only costs me 35 bucks to return a faulty device. Way to go Verizon!

you had the watch for 24hrs +/- and they charged you the restocking fee? they wouldn't exchange it?

I got my papers to prove the timeline too. Just another reason to leave Verizon after nearly two decades.

Complain in web chat until they refund that money. Or call them and keep calling back. No way should you have to pay to return a defective device.

I call and I am on permanent hold. I've wrote several emails with no answer yet. Going to wait now for the note 8 release and change carriers then. And also get another S3. Actually liked it a lot.

If you log on to Verizonwireless.com and use the chat function... that has always worked best for me.

I tried a few times on the phone and once on chat. All the same answer. So I'll wait till another time.

Never heard of a restocking fee at Verizon. But service varies from store to store. Have a friend who was a rep for Verizon. Amazing the stories she has to tell. I often go to Best Buy to avoid the local retail outlet.

I'm assuming you went to Verizon and not one of their pseudo representatives.

Did you have any luck? I have T-Moblie and find that their Twitter reps are the best one to contact with any issues. They seem to do more than what a phone rep or site rep can do. I hope in the end they refund you that fee for a defective device!

They shouldn't charge a restocking fee on a defective device. They should exchange it.

But yes they have a $35 restocking fee, but you can sometimes get it waived.
