There are now updates for a while.

I just got of the phone with Sprint, there seems to be a bug in the new update they are aware of it, it cause problems with the battery. They said they are working on it and should be out in few hours. You will get notification by text mesage. This I was told be a Sprint Tech.

I had no issue with my update this morning. The updates are in fact down though, my wife's phone says "your phone is up to date" and I haven't updated yet.

Hope everything is back up son.

Did anyone get to the bottom of the "update broke my Evo" problems today? I have been away from the forums for a while.

I am not one of those whose phone just died, rather, my wife's has been stuck in a loop on the updating screen for over 10 hours now. It sits on the screen with the green arrows for about 30 seconds, then the phone turns off, turns back on, and sits on the green arrow screen again. Very frustrating, RUU won't work and neither will hard resets (both methods being done over and over and over again in different scenarios, timings, in conjunction with battery pulls, etc). This is incredibly frustrating.

RS is "looking for a replacement", but I have no time line on when that will happen. They don't have a single one available in the district, whatever that means. Anyways, I'm in the dog house now because I walked her phone through the update while she was napping with the baby this morning, and now my wife has been without a phone all day and she is pissed at me!

Why would the update depend where you live? Does it not come from a central sever?

Since the Update:

Camera wouldn't open (Soft reset fixed it)
Cannot Upload videos to Youtube (WTF, the video was 202MB but tells me it can't upload because it's over 1GB)

A bug in the Calendar app, where u open an existing GoogleCalendar "all day" event for editing, and it changes the event date on the event details screen?

Mine still does it.

Update did more bad than good.

This morning's update seems to have done more bad than good. Majority of the people don't see improved battery life. Some people got their phones bricked with no fix possible, due to the phone being completely dead(this includes me). Android wallpapers are gone, widgets come up broken(not a big problem) and all we got was an improved wifi signal. Im sure there is other small stuff out there that may not be included in this thread(good and bad), but the big thing is having a phone die out on you and no replacements available for a week or two for some people. Things could have been a bit better if sprint's customer service wasn't so horrible and gave you the run around of not being aware of such an update or problem existing. The rudest cs rep told me "here is the number to HTC, call them and let them know about your problem cuz there is nothing we can do for you". Seriously?

My phone did the same thing won't power up at all and doen't even show it's charging. Pulled the battery 3 times myself and once at the Sprint Store and 2 times at Radio Shack. Now waiting for new EVO......not much hope of it being soon. I had unrevoked my EVO that is all. I will never take another update until I see NO problems posted. FYI another person came into the Sprint store before I did with the SAME problem. I'm in Michigan. So look for others with this problem. Anybody with a fix for a phone that won't power-up at all?????

excuse me ?! i didn't even get the improved WIFI- which actually sucks!
but overall i am happier with this phone then i ever was with PRE... slingbox baby (at least before the latest update)

I had unrevoked my EVO that is all.

lol. "I had only rooted my phone, that is all!"

Consider yourself lucky, because rooting is an act that technically voids your warranty. One shouldn't be doing it if they aren't aware of the consequences.

I got the update today and my battery life has been much better.

No complaints yet.
