Official Android 4.0.3 and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I did a system restore over the weekend and this is what it gave me. I didn't look before hand what version I had. I have not received an update though.

Just curious as to why you did a system restore as soon as you got the phone? (how does one do that)

I did a factory restore the second I got home because the VZ Rep at the store didn't seem to be able to see or hear the 6' 6" individual pleading with her not to touch anything on the phone... There are situations that would warrant this action... Damn, I feel like I'm reliving a bad dream now...

I'm not sure it matters. I have 4.0.2 and my phone works flawlessly.

blah blah yea we know. This is why none of us are anticipating 4.0.3 and there are no threads about it.

...Oh wait.

I did the restore just to test out backup and restore functionality, as this is my first android.

Data and cell strength seem on par with my iPhone. Since I just got the phone, I can't compare to 4.0.2

The phone could be 100% bug free and there would be tons of threads about an update. That's the nature of the beast.... blah blah blah.

Sounds promising. Looking forward to a more stable signal on 4.0.3.

Just do I have this straight: if you do a system restore (I forget how you do that, but whatever) you end up with 4.0.3. If you get a new phone you still get it with 4.0.2. So it can't be long before 4.0.3 starts being offered as an update. Other than the usual "snappier, smoother, faster" garbage that every update in cellphone history has, what's it supposed to fix?

Now we will be having doing factory resets in the hopes of getting 4.0.3, :D

If by "system restore" you mean factory reset, that erases only user installed apps and settings. If you do in fact have 4.0.3 and you never received an OTA update, then your phone had 4.0.3 before the factory reset. So, it must have shipped with that OS version. You should do a system dump and upload it so we can see the new files..

Correct, by system restore, I meant just doing the factory reset

Idk.. Everything looks a lot more "Blue" in that photograph. Does it all really have that blue look or was it just the camera playing tricks? Could u upload an actual screen shot from your phone of that settings screen?

It's not that i dont believe you, I'm just wondering why it looks so different.

Screenshot is the "Power" button and "Volume down" buttons held together btw.

I'm curious if your phone syncs the contacts with Facebook now... I'm not sure, but wasn't that one of the enhancements to 4.0.3?

Baseband version, Kernel version, and Build number--- all of yours are different than mine. As far as numbers go yours are higher than mine and I am on 4.0.2
