Official Battery Life Thread

The extended battery also fits the in the incipio case they have, great case to if you like small and minimal footprint cases.

My battery was at 43% when I left the store. After playing and syncing / installing apps and the update ~2.5 hours worth, I was down to ~38%, did it all through WiFi. On the charger now with the stock battery. Going to see how it fairs. If it's going to do what I think, 10-12 hours, I may take the extended battery back.

Finally got it charged about 95% an hour and 20 mins ago. In that time lost 20% batt, but have been.on browers, downloading apps, txting and short phone call. Whole time on 4G. But its not the 4G killing the batt its the screen (i dont have it on auto dim). And i have charged it in my truck, wife's car, and two different wall chsrgers with no heat.

I held off on the external battery until I saw what the stock battery does. If it is equal to what I got on my razr then I'll be happy. I got about 4.5 hours of constant usage earlier today when I first got it.

OK, I'm a little concerned. I just woke the phone up from sitting plugged in since 11:30 last night and in airplane mode. In 7 minutes I was at 94%, 30 minutes 90%, 40 minutes--still 90%. maybe it just sits there for a long time. I know about the power rollercoaster when on the charger, but that seemed a bit of a drastic drop. My guy at the store said his has been great. I also do have the worst signal in the world at my house. Don't know if that makes a difference right now since I'm on Wifi when at home.

Question since my GN doesn't arrive until later today.

My Nexus S 4G only charges to 95% -by design- to protect the battery. Does the GN behave the same way or can it go above 95%?

Full discharge - first day...let it set overnight and used quite a bit. 4g on, wifi off(most of the time - turned on about 12% left).

I was streaming internet radio during my 20 minute commute this morning and went from 33% to 15%. Something isn't right here. My Crapberry wouldn't flinch at that.

I am not impressed with battery thus far. I took it off the charger less than 2 hours ago and its already at 60%. All I did was make a few minute phone call to my wife on my way to work and send 2 texts to a coworker. :(

It's been hard to tell about battery life since I've been using the phone almost constantly, it seems to hold up well with heavy usage. I opted to get the spare standard battery instead of the extended since the extended was only slightly bigger (in terms of capacity) the spare seemed like the better value to me, tho mine didn't come with the wall charger and y cord, so I have to charge it in the phone. Where can I get the wall charger for the spare?

One hour and 28 min of surfing the web on auto brightness. Batter at 51% from full charge, first cycle.

Battery life seems poor when compared to my CM7 Dinc. Even when it was running the ICS test builds it was better. After about 20 minutes of Google Music streaming, in a non-LTE area, a few texts, and about 30 minutes of Google Reader browsing I'm at 50% after 2 hours on battery with auto brightness on, GPS off, NFC/BT off, and WiFi off when not connected. I have vibration enabled on the keyboard, thats the only real "guilty pleasure" that I have on regarding battery draining things.

When I get home I'm going to do this battery test I came up with. Maybe another user can do it as well to compare?

I will charge to 100%, disconnect power cord, and turn on WiFi. Brightness will be on max and I'll stream a movie (Tron: Legacy sounds good) on Netflix amd see how long she lasts.

i was getting about 10% of battery drain an hour.
that includes twitter, facebook, and googles Listen streaming engadget for 2 hours....
im thinking something is eating battery in the background.
maybe an email account or an app that is trying to sync and can't and is just running and running...

try a battery pull maybe... and see whats goin on.
or look at what you recently downloaded

I got roughly 4.5 hours...

I think gTalk is the cause of my battery life being killed so quickly. My iPhone lasts 2 days on a charge.

I'm going to have to charge my phone at work I guess.

Started my day at 70% and used moderately and 9 hours later had 20%. Very pleased that I had power after 9 hours.
As for the member who bought the spare battery. You'll have to charge in the phone. For a few dollars more should have purchased the battery with a charger kit. That one sold for 40.00 which is worth it if you use the phone a lot thru the day.
This is probably the best Android phone I've seen this year. I like it better than the Galaxy S II which comes with bloatware from the carriers like Sprint and ATT&T.
I'm a happy camper. Thanks Samsung and Verizon for releasing this phone before Christmas.:)

I forgot one other thing to those who want better battery life. Be sure to turn off WIFI and BLUETOOTH and close apps after using them. Just a tip for those new to Android.
