[Official] CyanogenMod 7 discussion

So what's the deal with these new GAPPS?

I'm sorry I haven't read through the entire thread, but do we have to flash newer GAPPS with the new releases?

Also, could someone provide me a link for the GPS lock when flashing back to a sense ROM? Thank you!!!

I installed RC2 this morning (full wipe/cache) and it ended up locking on the CM7 boot screen. I don't know if anyone else has this problem. It sounds like there are a few bugs to work out with RC2. I guess I'll wait to see if the pieces get ironed out before trying again. I'm not quite as tech savvy as most of you.
Also, when I use Rom Manager to download gapps, where does the phone store it so I can easily flash it?

Other than the damaged sd card on first boot (which has not reappeared on subsequent boots), everything here is running well on RC2. Wifi tether works, gps worked this morning, and 4G connected without any problems.

Im on CM7RC2 and in my power widget GPS is on, but I dont think its working... googlemaps is way off, and I dont have the GPS icon in the top bar. Is there some other way to know if its working or not?

Everything else is working great, wifi, wifi tether work....

if I do this
1 - Go to the Market and download the app: MSL Reader
2 - Use this app to get your MSL # (mine was six digits)
2 - Flash to any Sense ROM
3 - Launch phone dialer and dial ##GPSCLRX# (##4772579#)
4 - Enter the MSL Number from above
5 - Your phone will automatically reboot in 10 seconds
6 - Still in Sense, go to maps and let it lock. Go into recovery.
7 - Flash CM7
7 - Hopefully this fixed your GPS!

will have I to start cm7rc2 over from scratch or can I nandroid back to where I am now?

EDIT
I got an app from the app store "GPS Status" and it works, I just don't have a GPS Icon in the top bar...

After trying RC1 and failing to get GPS working with the Sense ROM and GPS Status fixes, I decided to give RC2 a try. Did a complete wipe from Warm Z, and GPS did not work out of the gates. GPS Status also failed to fix it, but this time the Sense ROM (Sprint Lovers) trick worked. GPS is now working well.

The only other issue that I have experienced is an inability to reliably connect to 4G. The first time I attempt to connect, I need to cycle 4G a couple of times before it connects. If I lose the 4G signal after I am connected, it will not reconnect, and I cannot get it to connect properly by cycling it no matter how many times I do it. A reboot is required to get it working again. I'm happy to have some access to 4G on CM and hope that it only keeps getting better.

Excellent ROM! Glad to be back on CM.

I flashed RC2 last night. So far things seem to be working well. I'm really impressed with how polished this ROM from a visual stand point. It looks amazing.

I'm a LauncherPro guy but I'm going to try to give ADW a chance.

I'll test GPS when I go out at lunch. It finds my location okay so I'm assuming it'll work well.

This is annoying! I flashed the rom and upon rebooting its stuck on cyanogen 7 boot screen. What gives??

How's #14? Anyone has any feedback yet? I'm loving #13 so much I'm scared to move on.
