My issue seems to be slightly different from yours. Some of my contacts pictures won't update...but there are two that do update. Whenever they update anything (not just new pics), their picture defaults to their facebook picture. I took my own pictures for these contacts that I saved to my phone, yet it reverts back to the facebook pictures everyday on its own. It is quite annoying considering they don't always even have a picture of themselves as their facebook picture. I am currently looking at a Brazilian flag.

What bothers me about this is that they haven't communicated at all outside of a few computer generated responses to emails... They need to give a official statement and at least acknowledge the issue so your customers know that you hear them...

We just got official word about what's going on. There's still working on it, but they're offering a workaround, too. http://www.androidcentral.com/whats-facebook-and-sense
The fix worked for me, I simply logged into FB from a computer, and added a city to my employer under the info section. Logged out of FB on the pc, and entered in my user/pass on the Evo and it finally logged me in. I rooted my Evo on Saturday and thought for sure I broke it that way. Now my phone is perfect again!

I hope the fix comes soon. I don't really care too much about the notifications or the contact pictures sending, but I do care about not being able to see my contacts' picture albums in the gallery folders. I hope that there is a fax for this soon.

k guy's not sure if this will work for everyone, concerning syncing with the evo with facebook using friend stream but it worked for me... Log out of facebook on your evo.. Settings-Accounts &Synce- Facebook- Logout... go into your FB on the computer and edit info on your profile on facebook... Enter your job and the city in which you do your job and also your school, not sure if it really matters about the school you attended but I did (I didnt put my real job either cuz I dont put that out there so I just put none of your business lol)..switch your mobile off for about 2 mins then turn it back on and log in again using friend stream.... Got my contacts back... well some of them it seems I dont think my phone is finished syncing yet...

Well, I've got good news. I just tried your suggestion and it worked. I'm all sync'ed up. However I still don't have my pics. But it works.... All I did was change my work stuff around rebooted the phone and it took off. Still wondering why I don't have any pics yet?? (BTW I did this at around 4:00 pm EST and 7/27/2010)
Mine took about 30 mins to do all my contacts... Let the phone sit and do its thing for a min and hopefully you get the pics too.... Glad it helped you out...
When you say log out do mean remove account because I do not have an option to just log out.
Dude you rock, My contacts still didn't come up so I hit refresh when trying to view then and they popped up.
