Stuck in Constant Bootloop after SBF Flash

Hey Guys -

I just SBF'd my Droid X back to 2.3.34 using RSDLite 4.9 (I've done it a few times before and never had any issues), but now I'm having a constant bootloop.

I've battery-pulled with no luck, and when I boot into Recovery it says "E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command" and will not let me wipe data/factory reset. I can wipe cache partition (which I've done multiple times), but nothing seems to be working.

My phone was running the non-rooted GB leak posted on here a few days ago, but I'd like to just get back to stock in the time being...

Anyone have any suggestions? I've re-downloaded RSDLite and re-installed, and I've re-downloaded the SBF file 3 times now.

Thanks!

I have followed the SBF instructions regarding flashing my droid x with RSDLite 4.9 and each and every time that I do (its been like 5+) nothing changes. There are no errors on the phone or the PC I am using (Windows 7 32) and everything says it was successful but I do not have Gingerbread on my phone. I have no idea what I could possibly be doing wrong. Anyone have any ideas for me? If you have questions, please ask, I really want Gingerbread on my Droid X!! :)

EDIT: I do see an error log now:

But RDSLite still says everything passed and I have had to activiate my phone on Froyo when I do the SBF-ing.
Once again, any and all help would be appreciated!

One thing that is wrong, you need to copy file to sd card and flash with Bootstrap Recovery, you need to follow instructions exact on page unless you want a brick.

Follow these directions carefully.

http://www.mydroidworld.com/forums/...id-2-gingerbread-2-3-3-release-prerooted.html

To get back to stock:

1. Grab the SBF File
You must start the process with your phone running the official 2.3.20. If you have already upgraded to gingerbread grab this 2.3.20 sbf file .... Download

2. Grab RSDlite
You must use RSDLite to use the sbf file from step 1 .... RSDLite

3. Grab the Drivers Drivers ....

4. Run RSDLite and sbf your phone back to 2.3.20

__________________________________________________ ________________

1. Download the following file and place on the root of your sdcard.

File size = 268.6 MB (281634600 bytes)
md5sum = fa4466301e067e813162e6960c1d4da4

2. Put phone into bootstrap recovery

3. Install the file you downloaded above

4. Sit back and watch (Your phone will bootloop for approx 30 secs, if any longer than that, pull battery and restart your phone.

You should now have gingerbread and it should be rooted.

Wow, everyone is Dloading it (I have a little wait)...Thanked P3Droid at MyDroidWorld.

I have a rooted 2.2 (system 2.3.15).

What would this change on my phone? I'm trying to find out if I can get to a rooted leaked gingerbread. Thanks.

How you view the X. It would bring u to 2.3.3 Gingerbread. If you download and install everything properly, you'll have a damn nice lookin boot animation, you'll have a cooler looking and faster interface. You'll start with more home screens, you get 3 profiles to have 7 each on making that 21. Some different wallpapers, tones, etc. You'll have the option for newer version ROMs, it's a long list of features for a system that will only get better with time.

Sounds like what I want. Besides the install instructions, is there some prep to do or is this like a complete wipe? Is there a way to preserve as much (apps, contacts, etc.) from my current setup?

You can backup your apps then re-install them from your SD card if you want. Will take less time away from playing with the new build.

Thanks for the help, last question I promise. what is the best way to backup my apps? I have Root Explorer, just copy the /data/app dir to the SD card?

I had Titanium on my phone, looks like it does the trick.

So I rooted using z4root and installed the rooted GB update. I'm new to tinkering with Android and wanted to see if I could do the SBF flashing just to make sure if anything happens I can bring it back to stock. If I were to unroot using z4root without doing the SBF would that jack my phone up?

If you've researched appropriately, you would know that z4root does not work on Gingerbread.

Okay I didn't know any better chief. So if I'd like to go back to stock and unrooted Froyo, all I would need to do is do the SBF and that's it?

Thanks. I downloaded the Motorola drivers, RSDlite, and the SBF file. That's it, right? Sorry for all of the stupid questions.

That should be all you need. Check the SBF file size and make sure it matches up with what others have found so that you now the download is good.

It was 434mb and it seems that's what everyone's saying it should be. I'm just doing the SBF flashing just so I know I can go back to stock if I encounter any problems.

Is it possible to sbf using ubuntu running on a cd or usb stick? I've got a mac and don't have enough hd space to partition the drive and I can't get vmware to load any os.
