[Official] Gingerbread Update - Bugs, New Apps, etc.

A bug I just noticed is that the htc calendar widget was incorrectly showing an event as tomorrow when it was actually a couple of days later.

So I guess it's still not safe to update to 2.3 yet.....??

If you don't wanna root, I say do it. My phone feels a LOT faster and smoother, but my one last gripe is that the voice recognition is now crap with any background noise.

Well, that and I can't root right now. And I want to. Bad.

yes the lack of voice recognition while driving is a serious problem.

Hello Guys

Has anyone been able to go from GINGERBREAD 2.33 to 2.2 to be able root Htc EVO 4G? I have tried with RUU 3.70 and it gives me a error every time. Please HELP

So I have the new gingerbread on my EVO and a few things that I have had problem with is after I exit an app the screen goes white and HTC shows up. Now I'm guessing the HTC sense rebooting or whatever? The other thing is that my phones internal memory went from 220mb to about 135mb after the update. I'm assuming that's just part of the update right? Anyways will there be anymore updates to the gingerbread anytime soon?

ive had some not all of these problem. but one that i just noticed today if that i tryed to view a video from my gallery on my tv thru the hdmi cable and it wouldnt play the phone would go dark with no audio. i called sprint any they said its possible the update messed it up. i cant confirm because i never tryed this when i had froyo....

is this true??? any advice if any??

I had the Sense rebooting issue until I decided to remove the battery and put it back in. Worked perfectly for me, haven't noticed any major issues since then.

So far, the only things I've noticed are the following,

1. Some have reported it was fixed from the original 2.3 update, but on mine it displays SMS msg balloon count when you view the messages and exit back out. The balloon disappears briefly then reappears again with the original count. You have to go back in and then exit again for it to clear.

2. Sometimes Yahoo mail displays under Gmail account. Attempting to open or delete messages causes FC because the mail actually doesn't reside there.

3. And of course the crappy V2T issue I mentioned earlier still pisses me off.

Hopefully they put out another update soon to address these and other issues that people have noticed because 2.2 was allot less buggy. I'm about ready to flash back to a pre 2.3 update.

A friend of mine with the Evo Shift is having constant Sense reboots.

The voice recognition is my biggest gripe. I use to love saying "navigate to (wherever the destination was)." It doesn't work anymore.

I have slowly been losing my phones internal memory since the gb update. I had like 225mb before gb and then I had 190mb and now I'm down to about 110mb. It would be ok if I was using all that for apps on my phone but I'm not. I don't really have that many apps on my phone right now. At most maybe 12. But I download the apps to my SD card anyway. So really I should still have a significant amount of phone memory left. With that said if any has any helpful tips on how I can get all that memory back or something please let me know. Cuz this is getting stupid. Thanks! EVO 4g
