[Official] Gingerbread Update - Bugs, New Apps, etc.

I am having a slight issue, and was wondering if anyone could verify it happening on their phone: Events added by Facebook to my calendar are now an hour later than they were before they update. Prior to the update, they showed the same time as Facebook did.

Thanks for any help,

John

Why has support for Wireless 802.11n been removed?

This is a huge downgrade. I cannot connect to my wireless N access point at above 802.11g speed like I have since the day I got my phone and I really notice the difference when browsing.

This is a huge step backward. I'm letting Sprint and HTC know I'm not very happy about this and encourage anyone else missing their wireless N protocol to do the same.

Why would they do this? For me, this offsets anything better at all about this update.

I noticed the battery usage problem saying like 70 - 80% but also noticed that my app drawer doesn't close after openings an app.

My bookmarks are still intact, although the ones that I had passwords saved to to log me in automatically are not remembering my login info. So im gonna have to re-enter n re-save some usernames and passwords. Wouldn't really call this a bug though, more of a minor annoyance.

I also noticed that launcher pro is not working properly since the update. In launcher pro, I had the home key set to take me back to my 1st screen when I pressed it. Now when I press home it kicks me out of launcher pro and back to sense.

Another issue I have now is that when I press home while in sense I no longer get shown that little sub menu that asks do u want to use sense or launcher pro and gives me the option to make one my default launcher. I can't even open launcher pro from the market now, I had to download an app called home switcher and open it from through that.

Same here with Launcher Pro and the home button. Sucks. I have had Home Switcher for quite a while and really glad I have it now.

Has anyone reset their phone to see if it corrects some of the problems people are having. I always found that starting fresh after a major update, works wonders for the EVO. Even uninstalling programs and reinstalling might work also.

- I think the clock being an hour behind and then updating has to do with Daylight Saving Time. It shows the normal time and then jumps ahead for DST. This fall it will just stay at the time it initially shows.

- The Display usage percentage under Battery is NOT a bug. All of the things listed should add up to 100% total. It is a measure of how the battery is being used, not a measure of how MUCH of the battery is being used. The Display obviously uses the highest percentage off power at any given moment.

Thankfully I have another phone to use. What a joke. Does sprint or Htc even test this software before it's pushed to the phones??

Screen Shot It not working
Wimax Notifier not working
Lost some HTC or Android ringtones
(my primary ringtone was the one that started out as a soft bell and then got to louder bells... anyone remember what that was called??)

Interesting concept, I'd be surprised if that's how it is now considering on older HTC phones they did that regardless of DST.

Ok, the no LED for text messages is my main issue, I hope this gets fixed soon! LED's for voicemail and email work great. Microphone to speak text on new keyboard not working yet in the handcent app microphone works. I'm assuming it's a new keybord clitch.

Thought that was just me but I'm having the same microphone issues...

Updated tonight after I got home from work. A couple of times I thought the update had frozen but I just let it go and it eventually finished. No real issues so far. All the apps I normally use seem to work ok. I have the battery screen usage thing but the percentage keeps dropping so maybe after a day or two it will settle down. I love the fast boot. The phone starts up as fast as a Blackberry now. :) As far as connecting to Wireless goes, I didn't notice anything but my access point is in G/N mode so it just connected. A speed test reveals better throughput though, I guess I'll take it. :) Overall, I'm happy with the update so far. We'll see what's what after living with it for a couple of days.
